The Leonard Future Fund is a charity dedicated to supporting school projects in developing nations. We are funded by the estate of Brenda Leonard, a lifelong passionate teacher who taught primary school in New York City for over 40 years. She died in 2024 without kids of her own.
We are committed to upholding Brenda's generosity towards underprivileged children. Her nephew Philip Auinger created the Fund and he is in close touch with experts around the world to make fair decisions which school projects to support.
The team includes advisers from major organizations such as Oxfam or Rotary Club, but also local project leaders who have been working in schools in poor communities for many years.
The Fund was created in 2024 and so it is still a young undertaking. Projects we have funded so far include schools in:
Konotop, Ukraine
Kalangala, Uganda
Shantiniketan, India
We are happy to support grassroot organizations in which our donations make a large impact. We interview the project leaders (online or on site) and verify proof of clear governance before sending any money.

We are in the lucky position that we do not need to do fundraising. We have a stable amount of funds that we can distribute year by year. Therefore, we do not accept donations, and focus on selecting projects for grants.
This is easier said than done. We need your help.
Do you know a grassroots organization that wants to grow and could benefit from a cash donation? Or would you like to work with one of the organizations we are supporting?
